Rugby game

This week we had to write something that we have done for the 2 weeks. I wrote about my rugby game vs Okaihau. Here is my writing for the weekend.

Rugby OHAEAWAI vs OKAIHAU

Vroom Vroom! My mum and I zoomed to the rugby club to get warmed up for the big game. The blue sky was warming up for a nice and warm day. My coach kicked the ball so my team could start running for the game. My coach said, “who wants to come up and show the team some stretches so they don’t get hurt.” Harley Beckham put his hand up to show the team some stretches.

Harley Beckham said. “ Get down for 10.” Now we were ready to kick off.

The whistle blew for the game to start. Bang! The ball flew in the air. Boosh! Harley Barlow ran it straight with the ball. I got the ball and then I stepped everyone and then I almost got a try for the team but I got tackled. Kaelan got the ball and almost got a try. Jade picked up the ball and scored the try.  I caught the ball on the full and then I gassed it down the line. I got a try right before they got me. Then the whistle blew for half time. My team had 6 points and the other team had 5 points.

The whistle blew for the second half. The ball whistled into the air. Harley Barlow smashed the guy in the other team. Then Tangaroa ripped the ball out of the other person's hands and ran it straight. Quickly he passed it to me and I zoomed to the try line as fast as a racing car. I slid in the mud like a race car round the bend. Then the other team kicked off and Saxdyn caught the ball on the full.  He passed to Kaelan then he ran it straight and stepped everyone and got a try for us. We kicked off and the other team caught the ball and got a try. Finally the whistle blew for full time. My team won with a score of 11 and the other team got 10.

That game was one of the best games I have had this season.

I wish the season was longer so we could play against them a lot more times. It would have been better if we had more people playing for us but it was still a good game.
