Vaseline saucers pet Day

We have Pet Day at Ohaeawai School every year and one of the activities we do is to create a symmetrical design on a saucer using flower petals. You put Vaseline on the saucer first to make the flowers stick. That’s why they are called Vaseline Saucers. Here is a pic of me with mine:

Insect art

Because we were using ‘Insects’ as a topic this week for reading and writing we created some

works of art based on insects also. We had to make them out of any materials we could find at

home. I chose to use: Paper, pipe cleaners, cats crackers and metals things.

We have been doing Matariki art.  We got to choose an activity.  I chose reach for the stars.

For Art we made pom pom germs using wool. We gave our germs names and decided whether they were a good germ or a bad germ.

Pet Day

Today is our school pet Day. We made vaseline saucers using flower petals. Here is my saucer.

Musical Instruments

Team Awa made instruments using recycled
materials.

I made a drum using 3 strawberry jars,
I used 2 strawberry jam jar lids for cymbals
and a coffee box.

Koru Art

We made koru art with Whaea Rose by using foam cutout koru shapes and stamping them using ink onto a white piece of paper.
My koru represents my family.
I really like the koru and the birds in my art.

Alien

This week we learnt how to use Google sheets to create a mine craft style character. We created an Alien .here is mine.

Self Portrait Art

We have been learning how to sketch our facial features. We needed to put
them in the right place on our face. For our background we typed our full name
and learned to copy and paste down the page.

I like my eyes because they look like a rugby ball.

I need to work on my hair.
